We have 4 wireless standards right now: Wireless-A (802.11a), Wireless –B (802.11b), Wireless –G (802.11g), and Wireless-N (802.11n). In terms of frequency, 802.11a operates at 5Ghz, 802.11 b/g operates at 2.4Ghz, and 802.11n. In terms of speed, 802.11a/g can transmit at speed of 54 mbps while 802.11b is at 11mpbs only.
